We currently have a vacancy for a Chief Financial Officer who will be responsible for oversight and governance of all accounting, finance and commercial aspects of the business.
Key Responsibilities
As the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of Sync Lift Engineering. Your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and work closely with Senior Leadership Team and directors to determine the company’s financial objectives including structuring the financial affairs and corporate governance in a way that accurately informs the business to make astute commercial decisions.
- Provide leadership, direction and management to the finance and accounting team
- Provide financial strategic recommendations including providing advice on long term business and financial planning
- Manage processes for financial forecasting, including preparation of budgets and cash flows
- Oversee the preparation of all financial reporting including management accounts, annual consolidated financial statements, and manage the audit process
- Oversee the preparation of all taxation returns and work closely with the company accountants for tax compliance and planning
- Assist with implementing feasibilities into new projects including the preparation of cash flows, calculation of rates of return and determination of capital requirements as well as the provision of advice on optimum financial and legal structures
- Management of the Company’s cash flow and capital requirements including securing the necessary project finance
- Establish, develop, and maintain positive working relationships with the Directors, Executive, Auditors, Accountants, and other stakeholders
- Oversee and maintain the Company’s corporate governance systems and make recommendations on improvements and enhancements
- Review and interrogate costs with relevant Business Unit owners to ensure maximum margin upside is achieved, assisting with seeking business cost improvement opportunities.
- Ensure that contractual terms and understood, communicated to project leaders, and met throughout project lifecycles.
- Close out monthly reporting including generation and distribution of P&L reporting with recommendations and feedback to each BU Manager and Company Directors.
In addition, you will be instrumental in optimizing project finances, maximizing margins, and ensuring contractual compliance throughout project lifecycles.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential criteria:
- Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, business accounting, or finance
- Professional certification (eg: Certified Public Accountant)
- Minimum 2 - 3 years’ experience in at a minimum Superintendent, Business Partner or CFO/FC role of a medium to large business requiring sophisticated, strategic financial leadership.
- Highly attuned numerical skills together with exceptional organisational skills and the ability meet deadlines.
- Tax/Business services professionals from Director level up may also be considered if they have extensive experience in manufacturing / construction / development businesses.
- Proven strong technical background, and ability to think strategically to financially futureproof the organisation.
- Prior experience with an ERP system (Microsoft Business Central) is highly desirable.
